You must be 13 or over to use the ORLAGH’S app. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian books care and pays.
Bookings, prices and cancellations are as set out when you book and in our booking terms.
Be kind in the Pack. No harassment, no hateful or unsafe content, and no sharing other people’s private information.
Keep key-safe, alarm and door codes out of booking notes, chats and emails. If you want us to have them in the app, use Key & access details, where they are encrypted.
These terms are governed by Scots law.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the ORLAGH’S app and our booking invite pages, provided by ORLAGH’S (“we”, “us”), 11/15 Albion Gardens, Edinburgh EH7 5NS. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. Our privacy notice explains how we use personal information.
The dog-care services you book (such as walks, visits, training and care) are also covered by the terms shown when you book and our booking terms. If those terms and these terms disagree about a booking, the booking terms apply.
2. Who can use the app
You must be 13 or over and give your date of birth when you sign up. Each account is for one person. If we find an account belongs to someone under 13, or that a date of birth isn’t true, we will close it.
If you’re 13 to 17, you can use the app, with a few things kept for grown-ups to keep you safe:
A parent or guardian books care, signs the booking terms and pays. They can add you to your dog so you can follow visits and records.
You can fill a shop basket, but a parent or guardian places the order.
Adults outside your family can’t message you or see your Pack profile, and you can’t message them. You can chat with the ORLAGH’S team, your family and other members your age.
People can’t find you from their phone contacts.
Working with dogs through ORLAGH’S (as a team member or walker) and running a business on ORLAGH’S are for people aged 18 or over.
If anything in the app worries or upsets you, use Report, block the person, or tell a parent, guardian or the ORLAGH’S team.
3. Your account
Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
Complete the verification selfie when asked. A member of our team checks it to confirm you are a real person. Until it is approved, you can message our team but can’t post in the Pack or message other members. A new profile picture has to be approved too.
Keep your password private and don’t let anyone else use your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.
Which parts of the app you can use can depend on your account type (for example general member, puppy buyer or dog client). Once set, your account type can only be changed by us.
Prices, availability and what each service includes are shown in the app when you book. A booking request isn’t confirmed until we confirm it.
Cancellations, changes, late payment and any other booking rules are as set out at booking and in our booking terms.
If our team books something for you, you’ll get a private invite link to accept or decline it. Please don’t forward the link: anyone with it can see the booking and reply.
Invoices show how to pay. If you pay through a payment link, the payment is handled by that provider (for example SumUp, Square, Stripe or PayPal) under its own terms; we don’t receive your card details.
As a consumer you have legal rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms affects them.
5. Information about your dog
Please complete the intake form and keep your dog’s records accurate, especially bite history, reactivity, health conditions, medication and vaccinations. We rely on this to keep your dog, our team, other dogs and the public safe.
The vet spend limit on the intake form is the most we may authorise for emergency treatment if we can’t reach you or your emergency contacts.
If you give us details of other people (a second contact, emergency contacts or people your dog is bonded with), make sure they are happy for you to do so and point them to our privacy notice.
Your answer to the photo and media consent question decides whether we may post photos or videos of your dog on our social media. You can change it at any time.
6. Keys and access codes
Never put key-safe codes, alarm codes or door codes in booking notes, chats or emails. You can give them to us by phone or in person, or keep them in the app under Key & access details: there they are stored encrypted, only the team member assigned to your visit can open them (from 12 hours before it until 2 hours after), and you can see each time they were opened. Tell us straight away if you change a code, or if you think a code or key has been lost or seen by someone it shouldn’t have been.
7. The shop
Products, prices and stock are shown in the app. Orders are paid for in the way shown at checkout (for example in person on collection or at your next visit). Subscriptions renew as described when you set them up, and you can stop them in the app. Your legal rights as a consumer, for example if goods are faulty, are not affected.
8. Community guidelines
The Pack, group chats, member messages, place reviews, alerts and comments are for dog lovers to help each other. Please:
Be respectful. Disagree kindly. No bullying, harassment, threats, intimidation or unwanted contact.
No hate. Nothing that attacks people because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other characteristic.
Protect privacy. Don’t share anyone else’s personal information, such as addresses, phone numbers, car registrations, or photos of people (especially children) without their permission. Don’t post where you or anyone else lives, or patterns that show when a home is empty.
Keep dogs safe. Don’t post advice that could put animals or people at risk, or content that shows or encourages cruelty. In an emergency, contact a vet, the Scottish SPCA (03000 999 999) or the police.
Be accurate with alerts. Lost-dog and hazard alerts go to every member. Only send real, current alerts, and say when a dog has been found.
Be honest in reviews. Review places and services you have actually used. On our public reviews page we show every review customers agree to share, except ones that break these guidelines (for example personal details or abuse); we never pay for reviews or hide them for being critical.
Faces and homes: only share photos or videos of other people (especially children) with their, or their parent’s, OK, and avoid house numbers, car registrations and school badges.
No spam or selling without our permission, and no misleading links.
Nothing illegal or that infringes someone else’s copyright, and no sexual, violent or otherwise inappropriate content.
Be yourself. Don’t pretend to be someone else or to be part of the ORLAGH’S team.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to store it and show it to other members in the app for as long as it is there. We won’t post your content, or photos of your dog, on our social media unless you have agreed. You are responsible for what you post and must have the right to share it.
10. Reporting, blocking and moderation
You can report posts, replies, messages and members, and block members so they can’t contact you.
Our team reviews reports and may remove content, approve or decline hazard alerts and meet-ups, hide posts, or restrict an account. Lost-dog alerts go to members straight away, and our team checks them afterwards. We aim to act quickly, but we don’t check everything before it is posted.
Private encrypted chats can’t be read by ORLAGH’S. If you report one, only the messages you choose are shared with our team.
Reports are kept for 2 years after they are resolved, so we can deal with repeated problems.
If you think we got a moderation decision wrong, email us and we will look at it again.
11. Information in the app
Learning content, guidance, games and the dog-law pages are general information and not a substitute for advice from a vet, trainer or solicitor about your dog. Places on the map come largely from OpenStreetMap and other public sources and may be out of date. Always check local rules, signs and opening times, and keep your dog under control.
12. Other services in the app
Some features use other companies’ services, such as YouTube and Vimeo for lesson videos, GIPHY for GIFs in chats, LiveKit for calls, Stripe for card payments, and Apple or Google maps. Their own terms and privacy notices apply when you use them.
13. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account, or limit what it can do, if it breaks these terms or the community guidelines, puts people or animals at risk, is used fraudulently, or if we are required to by law. Where it is safe and reasonable we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
We may change or withdraw features of the app. If we stop providing the app altogether we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to download your data.
14. Our responsibility to you
We provide the app with reasonable care and skill, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for content posted by other members.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Changes
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. The version and date at the top show the latest. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app and may ask you to accept the new terms before continuing to use it.
16. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Any dispute will be dealt with by the Scottish courts, except that if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live. Please talk to us first — most problems can be sorted out quickly.
